Getting the creeps

One Friday night we went on a Sylvia Park Reach Out with a girl who had been shopping earlier in the day and had got a creepy feeling as she passed a certain shop.

Walking by the same shop with our group she got the willies again and said, "ick there's something evil here, let's walk fast!". We were about to speed off when the Holy Spirit suggested to one of the group, 'why not take the ground instead?'

So, walking around the area, trying not to look too weird, we claimed the ground in Jesus' name. Suddenly the girl who'd had the creeps got a new feeling of boldness.

She walked up to the shop owners and asked them if they would let her bless their business. The guys who worked there were surprised, but really open. Together the group blessed their business and bound the influence of an idol that was sitting almost out of view at the shop owners' feet.

We prayed peace on them. The evil presence lifted and we left the men looking a little baffled but happier than when we arrived.
